SLAM Dry Hire

Handheld SLAM scanning is a fast-growing area of LiDAR. We have a TrueView GO 116S here in our Brisbane fleet, ready for dry hire. No drone qualifications required. Walk your site, capture high-quality 3D data indoors, outdoors or underground.

We provide everything you need including the scanner, LP360 processing software, training and support. A big part of our business is helping you to enter this space!

Geo Drone Solutions offers 'Dry hire' to its survey based partners, this includes handheld SLAM.

We have a TrueView GO 116S handheld SLAM scanner on hand for rentals here in Brisbane. This 'Dry hire' option refers to equipment only, ie no staff. You take the system, scan your sites, and return it when you're done.

The TrueView GO combines traditional GNSS RTK surveying with cutting-edge 3D reality capture using advanced SLAM technology. It simplifies field operations and significantly enhances the reliability and quality of the data collected. Scan indoor, outdoor, and subterranean environments, making complex scanning tasks as simple as walking through your site.

A TrueView GO handheld SLAM rental requires no CASA qualifications. This makes it an ideal entry point for teams wanting to explore 3D scanning capability without the regulatory overhead of drone-based LiDAR.

These rental periods generally start at one week, although for second time renters we can consider shorter periods. For short initial rentals, perhaps consider our SLAM partnering approach where we guide you through the entire process.

We offer training and support with each rental, including helping you set up the software, collect data in the field, and process your scans. We can also post-process the data for you if this is more desirable.

For experienced surveyors, these SLAM rental options are a great way to enter this business area and to build experience in collecting and delivering handheld LiDAR based data.

A SLAM Solution For Multiple Applications

The TrueView GO, with advanced SLAM capabilities, allows surveyors to excel in areas with poor or no GNSS signals, enhancing flexibility and accuracy. This technology is perfect for environments where GPS is unreliable, such as dense forests, underground or deep mining areas, and indoor spaces.

This makes it an invaluable tool for surveying, civil engineering, and BIM professionals, as well as for agricultural and forestry surveying, power line inspection, material pile volume calculation, and data collection in underground spaces.

Common hire applications include:

  • Interior surveys and Scan-to-BIM

  • Underground mining and tunnel mapping

  • Forestry and vegetation surveys

  • Civil engineering and as-built verification

  • Heritage and architectural documentation

  • Public safety and forensic scene capture

  • Volume calculations and stockpile measurement

  • Facility management and digital twins

LP360 and TrueView GO - Easily Register and Fuse Your Mapping Data

What truly distinguishes the TrueView GO from other handheld mapping scanners is the inclusion of the powerful LP360 processing software with every rental.

This advanced software suite allows users to create detailed point clouds from raw data, colorize LiDAR, and perform quality control on LiDAR and image data collected during scans.

Moreover, the workflow benefits immensely from the integration with LP360, enabling users to seamlessly process, combine, and fuse their data with other collections from drone, mobile, and terrestrial sources.

If processing the data is outside your current capability, we can post-process for you as part of the rental arrangement.

RENTAL REQUIREMENTS

In order for you to rent our SLAM system, certain requirements need to be met. Unlike our drone-based LiDAR dry hire, no CASA qualifications are required for handheld SLAM.

  • Insurance covering loss needs to be in place. Our insurance covers the equipment for in transit insurance whilst being freighted within Australia.

  • Your Certificate of Currency will need to list GeoCue Australia as the interested party and will also need to refer to the equipment type and serial number.

  • We require you to select 'Signature on delivery' when returning equipment to us.

  • For first-time renters, we include a training session to ensure you are comfortable with setup and operation.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any drone qualifications or CASA licensing?
No. Unlike drone-based LiDAR, the TrueView GO handheld SLAM scanner requires no CASA qualifications, no pilot licensing, and no special permits. You simply walk your site with the system and capture data.

What is the shortest period that I can rent for?
One week. Shorter periods may be available depending on the circumstances, particularly for returning renters.

Is the system very hard to learn or is it relatively straight forward?
We offer a day of free training/support with each rental. This includes helping you set up the software, collect the data and to process the data. We can post process the data entirely if this is preferred.

Do I need to get insurance?
Yes. You need to have cover for loss for our TrueView GO system. We have in transit cover in place for our equipment. We require you to select 'Signature on delivery' when returning equipment to us.

How much does it cost?
Please contact us for current SLAM dry hire pricing. Rates vary depending on the rental period.

Is there a limit to how much scanning I can do?
No, you can scan as many sites and environments as your time and battery life allow during your rental period.

Can I combine SLAM data with drone LiDAR data?
Yes. LP360 allows you to seamlessly process, combine and fuse your handheld SLAM data with collections from drone, mobile and terrestrial sources. This is one of the key advantages of the TrueView GO workflow.

Can I try before I buy?
Absolutely. Our SLAM dry hire is a great way to trial the TrueView GO before committing to a purchase. Many of our customers start with a rental and then decide to invest in their own system.
